Faculty Retreat & Orientation Week - August 2022
OUR STAFF
SAS staff members are highly qualified. All SAS faculty hold Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees, participate in continuing faith formation, and ongoing professional development. Our team members have an average of 10 years teaching experience. Several of our faculty are returning alumni who serve the next generation of learners. We are proud of the incredible knowledge bases, global cultural heritage and diverse life experiences that our faculty brings to share with our students. We mirror our universal church and represent our global village of school families.
OUR PRINCIPAL
Principal Beate Nguyen, Ed.D joined SAS in 2013, after serving at various Catholic schools in Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as IB World Schools in South East Asia. A global nomad, who has lived, studied and worked on four continents, Dr. Nguyen leads SAS as faith-filled Catholic, transformational leader and global citizen. Her expertise in technology integration and international education ranging from Early Childhood Education to IBDP (High School) strengthens the school’s foundation with visionary excellence. Dr. Nguyen holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College, Los Angeles, and a Masters in Education from LMU.
OUR PASTOR
Rev. Christopher B. Fagan began serving the St. Augustine Parish for several years, before becoming the pastor in July 2014. Father Chris frequently interacts with the students during the liturgical year and celebrates our Wednesday School Mass. His spiritual leadership supports the schools’ Catholic Identity, Sacramental Preparation and Faith Formation. We are blessed to have a spiritual leader at SAS, who deeply cares about the success of our students and school families.
