On August 28, 1926, a pioneer group of religious women, members of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph, opened a new parochial school in Culver City. SAS began serving our community on September 7, 1926 with an enrollment of 123 children.
Since its inception in 1926, St. Augustine School has successfully overcome many challenges of historic proportions. This included among others two world wars, economic downturns, enrollment fluctuations, and a more secular society with many technological advances. St. Augustine School continuously demonstrates its agility and adaptability for generations to come.
On March 20, 2020, St. Augustine School embraced a new reality when the global COVID19 pandemic forced a national lockdown on our society and school, leaving mankind to rethink education. With resilience and dedication, professional expertise and hope, we redesigned what learning should look like for our students.
On August 26, 2026 we will be celebrating our 100th Anniversary of serving our local, and global community with faith. At St. Augustine School we train young leaders to build community, foster peace, and create innovation to serve mankind.
