UNICEF @ SAS 2015Learning about “caring” begins at a young age! Impacting the world in a positive way occurs through service-learning, collaboration and problem-solving. For the past years, SAS Ambassadors have supported the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) through their efforts. This year again, students are participating in the UNICEF “Trick-or-Treat” fundraiser for children around the globe.

UNICEF Ambassador  Ms. Cambria visited our classrooms to speak about the need for schooling, drinking water and other necessities in life, that we often take for granted in our daily routines. By visiting with students, our children get a first-hand account of how each of us can truly make a difference for children around the world. Did you know that only 7 cents can make an impact?

So far, SAS has been able to provide 4 villages with a “School-in-a-Box!” Let’s make that five, or six ….or even more this year! Let’s Trick-or-Treat together for UNICEF! Works of Mercy, Vision of Hope!

Earth Day 2015 – April 22nd

Our young learners and global citizens are capable of solving the challenges of tomorrow! The key to being a problem-solver, innovator and critical thinker is to be educated and able to distinguish fact from fiction. Such training begins at a very young age.

On April 22, 2015, SAS will observe Earth Day. Tomorrow’s leaders will learn about environmental stewardship by participating in Climate Education Week. For more information please log on to:

Our SAS Learning Community is committed to:

  1. Participate in Climate Education Week
  2. Begin the planning process of an effective recycling program for the 2015-16 school year with the support of our student government
  3. Educate our community about water resources in California, energy saving tips and environmental stewardship

Join us and other global citizens in preserving the beauty of God’s creation!
